October:

ELWAY -

4 year old male Pomeranian who was found wandering loose on a busy road.  This nice lady, who got a Pom rescue from us last February, got him home and called the owner on the tag...they had since given him to someone else, neither of which want him.  : - (      He had a bad eye, which owner tells me is from a spider bite years back, and I believe he is completely blind in that eye.  We will get him in to our vet as soon as possible for an over-all well check.  had retained testicles and did not have current immunizations.   After we got him all fixed up, our vets wonderful accountant took him home to the family and they all fell in love!  He is now happily living with children who play with him, and adults that adore him!

TOBY: Got an awesome new dad who is a "Harlie dude" who will be taking him for lots and lots of rids.  Toby was thrilled with this new arrangement...you should have seen his smile!

CASINO:  Will also be getting some mileage in with his new dad who is a long-haul trucker and wanted a companion for the long rides from state to state.  He also will have a new Bichon brother, back in Texas to spend time with when he makes it home.

September:

Rabbit (right): Needed a new home when his owner died.  One of our boarding clients wanted another pet to keep her senior dog Taffy (left) company, and thought he would be just great for her!

Thumper: was a special needs Bichon.  She was born with a bad heart and needed to move to a lower altitude.  She found a lovely home with some people who are moving from Colorado to California to care for their parents.  They had just lost their beloved Bichon and thought fell in love with Thumper from the internet photo.

BEA:  (on the right) Was extremely shy, and needed a very gentle hand to teach her trust.  She was adopted by a wonderful lady who got a similiar dog a year ago.  Kito  is now the most wonderful outgoing Bichon one could meet, as you can tell by the smile on hi face.

Madeline:  will have a wonderful new life with this family!

Marshall: on the right, was 9 and his first adoptive mom said he had too much energy for her.  Well, that won't happen with his new family of a Bichon brother and a hu-mom who walks 3-5 miles a day!

Boots, Toto and Zoe all found homes during the PetsMart adoption weekend Sept. 12-14.  Thank you PetsMart for the help!

August: was a busy month!

TUCKER is a 2 1/2 year old male Bichon, who just found a new home with this happy lady and will have a Visla to play with as well.  Nice way to end the month.  Last day, last placement.

Molly was that rare, "young, housebroken, female" we seldom get.  She actually sat around here for about 3 weeks while we tried to find the perfect home for her.  She is now living with this darling woman and her husband.  She will have another dog to play with as well and a big back yard and can even "hang" with the horses if she wants to.  She was referred to us by another Rescue family.  Yippeee!!!  Happy ever after stories to share!

THANK YOU PETSMART AND PETLINE 9 IN HELPING US PLACE THE FOLLOWING RESCUES ON AUGUST 10th:

  BOUNCE, 2 year old Pomeranian

GIZMO, 4 month old mix pup

MARLANA, 3 yr old Min Pin

**************************************

Ernie is thrilled his new sister picked him for her new playmate, and he gets to go to a new forever home now!

Walter-Cameron, on right, is looking very happy to be going home with a new mom and his new 12-year old brother, Driscol-Capris.

July:

Bijou, was a darling, well behaved, housebroken female P**dle.  She is moving to Craig Colorado to be with her new mom, who found her on our website, and drove all the way down here to get her.

BEA, was 4-6 years old, and dumped in the Boulder Humane Shelter.  She found a wonderful new dad, who just lost his P**dle of 14 years, and he will definitely give this little one a great home.

Harrison, was 3 years old and still not housebroke, so he was relegated to the garage full time.  He was adopted by this wonderful couple who have had 0 accidents since taking him home.  He is getting tons of attention, so will do fine now.

June:

Pierre was a happy-go-lucky Bichon who won the hearts of his new family, and is living happily every after in Montrose, Colorado.

AMY: Was adopted out about 6 months ago, but her large dog brother decided to take a dislike to her, so she had to come back.  We called Min-Pin Rescue and they helped us find a wonderful new home for her with people who had a 6 year old Min-Pin to keep her company during the day.

May:

NIMBO: Is an 11 month old Bichon who was an owner turn in at the local shelter.  He was so terrified there, that they asked if we would take him in.   As we exited the shelter, his tail went up, he put a smile on his face and he acted like he knew he was headed to a better place.  He hung around for about 10 days playing with the "gang" and was then adopted by a wonderful couple.  Check out all the smiling faces, including Nimbo!

LUCY: Came to rescue at a year old as an "excitement piddler" which is very frustrating for owners.  After spending a few weeks here, she was much better, and was then adopted by Heather who said her other Bichon while growing up was and still is an excitement piddler, so she doesn't mind.

KILLER: was a lost/abused puppy that ended up with a happy-ever-after story with this wonderful lady.  He was only about 14 weeks old and found wandering loose, absolutely terrified of everyone/thing.  He warmed up to Kenny immediately and me also, and once bonded, he was our constant had to be held buddy.  His new mom promises to shower him with oodles of love and attention, and to try and fatten him up.

Baccus looks extremely happy going on his way to his new home in New Mexico!  He was a 6-7 year old male found wandering loose in Longmont where he was picked up and put in the shelter there.  Someone saw him on the Shelter's website and e-mailed us.  The shelter released him to one of our volunteers (thank you Chris & Barbara Gemma), who brought him to us.  His new family saw him on our website.  They had been on our wait list for a long time, and were so excited to get him they drove 7 hours one direction, to come get him. Now this senior dog is living with a senior mom who will spoil him rotten.  From what we heard, it was love at first sight!  This was a quick happy-ever-after ending.

April:

Buster got a swell new family to move in with.  And his new sister, Ellie Mae will have a new playmate as soon as she decides he OK.  He was a 3 year old Bichon who had a bad habit of marking territory every few months.  New mom's said they will work on this, and promise to be in for the long-haul.

FRAISER:  a 6-7 year old male Bichon found a new home with an older Spanish couple who are just in love with this dog.  He will learn a new language and get lots of treats and walks, and will also have lots of family to dot on him with visiting kids, grandkids, etc.

Bogie: was beginning to mark territory at the nursing home he was placed in 2 years ago, so we needed to move him to a new home.  Fortunately, he made a lasting impression on the employees and two of them took him home to live with them, and he now has a new doggie brother and cat sister (who is not pleased) to hang with.  Within a few hours he was playing and romping and a very happy dog in his new space.

March:

Cyndi is here with her new "mystery" puppy.  We cleaned him up and still think he might be a Havanese.  But whatever he is, he is a cutie-pa-too-tee and will get tons of attention and love with his new mom.

Linda looks real happy with her new friend, YoyoYoyo was a 6-year old Toy Poodle who came to us via a shelter when his owners decided they had too many pets and Yoyo had to go.  We are very happy he will now be an only child and will get very spoiled by his new mom.

February: Came in with 12 dogs already in rescue. Monday morning the 3rd, a call to take in another...these are the lucky ones who found homes

Beah, a 5 year old shih-Tzu found a wonderful home in Snowmass Colorado with this lovely lady who waited over a month for her, and made sure she was fully "dog" stocked before she got her.  Complete with bed, brush, comb, toothbrush, eye wash, leash, collar...you name it, Beah has it!

Chunka, a 5-year old Chihuahua now has a new family consisting of a new long-hair Chihuahua brother, 2 human brothers and a humand sister, as well as a pair of hu-parents.  She will get tons of love and attention now!  They fell in love with her picture on the internet.  Yippeee!

SADIE   ALTHOUGH SHE LOOKS LIKE A P**DLE,   ACCORDING TO HER OLD FAMILY, SHE IS AN ALMOST 3 YEAR OLD BICH-TZU.  (BICHON/SHIH-TZU).  HER FAMILY MOVED SOMEWHERE OFF A GREENBELT, WHERE THERE WERE TONS OF COYOTES EATING LOCAL GEESE AND PETS.   SO REGRETFULLY, PUT SADIE IN RESCUE.  WHILE HANGING AT PETSMART, WE FOUND A PERFECT FAMILY FOR HER...
