When: Saturday. June 25, 2005; 11 a.m. - 2:30

Where:  Julia DeKoevend Park; Littleton, Colorado

Who:  30 family and friends of assorted Bichons, Pomeranians, and other pets.

They arrived in every mode of transportation:

walking

and riding

and some carried in This lady has a Fuzzypups Shih Chon and she just loves her.

What transpired: We had fabulous weather and great attendance!  And all attendees were given a bandana for their pet thanks to the Parker PETsMART!

Events held were a "doggie walk" - like a cake walk or musical chairs, and we had an ongoing obstical course where our doggies could show off their skills, or just think about it.  Snicker Wells was the overall champion with his skill of highest jumper and fastest time.  And he is all of 9 pounds!   He is Beau's son, so we are not surprised, as Beau is the original bad boy who invented our Shih Chon by climbing fences http://www.fuzzypups.com/Ode to a Pomachon.htm

Our costume contest awarded First prize to Snicker Wells as a groom

and Rosie as a bride (isn't she pretty?)

second prize went to Pat Minnehan's crew of 3 All American Bichons in red, white, and blue

third place went to  Rick .(our M.C) and Sherry Bishop's Pomeranian who was dressed in Pom-Poms

Other assorted innovative costumes were her sister dressed in a Minnie Mouse outfit ,complete with ears!

Kirby in a Harley Davidson jean outfit,

Virginia's little girl in a butterfly outfit and another Pomeranian with belles.   Merlin the Magician and Biker Bob saved the day with attendance from Bichon's,

Oscar and Felix - Shih Tzu brothers, came in full show coat dressed as the Odd Couple.  Are they not just adorable?!?

And a little Sailor girl

The Raffle was a big fund-raiser - with lots of assorted gifts donated from Coors;  Mark from the Aurora, Colorado Out Back Steak House;  the Blanketeers, (a group of women who make blankets and other items for rescue);  Pat Minnehan and her brood of Bichons; Virginia Wallace, the Kintz Sisters and others from the Denver Metro Pom Club, the Parker Walmart   Everyone who purchased a raffle ticket went home with something!  We love that part.

Patty of Patty's Pet Photography was on hand to take wonderful professional photos of pets and their owners, and we are looking forward to seeing those proofs.
