2004 Pomachon-Fuzzypups Picnic Fund-Raiser

The picnic was held, as always, on the 3rd Saturday in June.  This year that was June 19.  Unfortunately, the weather had been rainy and overcast all week, and promised more of the same.   With no way to reschedule, we went forward with our picnic plans. 

Fortunately for us, 40 families with 56 dogs decided to risk the weather and come join us.

and our first event was a Fashion Show: We spent months gathering assorted various outfits for our volunteer models. 

First up, was Sassy with Virginia her owner, President of the Denver Metro Pom Club, co-sponsor of the picnic

In fashion we had everything from Winter to Summer outfits

Sassy had a Bath Jacket with a Ducky on it

We even had swimsuits:  Check out the Bichons drooling over the bikini

Appropriate for the day were raingear: 

And Pint was the All American Dog

Cinders mom made her a darling dress

But with a groom this cute, you can expect competition: 

Of course there was plenty of time for visiting:

Meeting old friends and new friends. 

And this year we had an obstacle course:     thanks to Zona from the Denver Metro Pomeranian Club, owner of Rocky Mountain Agility. 

We had just started the Relay race

 when the rain came down. so we all rushed under cover .  Although many left, many more stayed, and

Our professional Photographer was still able to do some photo shoots:

  Under cover gave perfect time to check out the items available for the silent auction.

And after the sun came back up, we continued with our Costume Contest: (Photos coming soon).
